My 2nd MSC Meraviglia Cruise: Family Fun, Food Shortages & A Missed Port

I sailed on MSC Meraviglia back in February 2025 for my second time — but this trip was different. My first voyage on this ship was a solo cruise for my 55th birthday, and it was nothing short of fabulous. This time, I brought my family along, ready to make more memories. And we did… but let’s just say this cruise came with a few plot twists.

Family Time at Sea

All in all, I had a great time with my family. We laughed, explored, and enjoyed the ship’s entertainment. There’s something special about sharing ocean views and late-night talks.

The Not-So-Great Part

The food shortage? Yeah… that didn’t sit well with me — literally and figuratively.

From missing menu items to a buffet that looked like it was rationing in the apocalypse, it was a real disappointment. Would I sail on MSC Meraviglia again? Not sure. But I do have my eye on MSC’s World America cruise ship — so stay tuned for that adventure.

How It Compared to My Solo Cruise

When I cruised solo, the food was plentiful, the service was sharp, and the vibes were everything. This family trip? Still enjoyable, but the difference was noticeable. It reminded me that the same ship can give you two very different experiences.
