Yesterday was one for the books! I attended Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl, celebrating his 20 years in the music industry, at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT. The best part? I went with my sister and my 16-year-old twin niece and nephew. Yeah, let that sink in—vibing out to the same artists in concert with my twinsies. Imagine that!

The Openers: Summer Walker & Bryson Tiller

Chris didn’t come alone. The energy started building with Bryson Tiller and Summer Walker heating up the stage.

I’ll admit, I’ve heard plenty of Bryson’s songs but never really connected the face to the voice. If it weren’t for my twinsies, I probably still wouldn’t know. But let me tell you, his performance was smooth, engaging, and set the perfect tone for the night.

Then came Miss Summer Walker—and whew, honey! She WOWed me. From her vocals, stage presence, costumes, dancers, and confidence to the stunning visuals—clearly, she has grown into her artistry. Watching her last night was a far cry from the Summer Walker I saw years ago at Mary J. Blige’s Soul of a Woman show. It just proves my point: the company you keep—and in this case, the artists you tour with—can elevate your performance.

Chris Brown: 20 Years, Still Untouchable

And then came the man of the night: Chris Brown. If you’ve ever seen Chris live, you already know—his energy is unmatched. The choreography, vocals, visuals, and his ability to keep the crowd on their feet are second to none.

At one point, Chris soared through the air from one stage to the next, gliding above the crowd while singing his hit “Wall To Wall.” Below him, dancers in colorful costumes awaited his landing to join him on stage. The entire setup was lit like a life-sized game board—and it was nothing short of spectacular. (See video below.)

I was so glad I wore comfortable clothes and sneakers, because Chris had the entire stadium dancing all night long. The vibe was pure nostalgia mixed with the excitement of witnessing a living legend still at the top of his game.

Sharing this moment with my family—especially my teen twins—made the night even more special. Music really does bridge generations, and last night’s Breezy Bowl was proof of that.

20 years in the game, and Chris Brown hasn’t missed a beat!

If you haven't experienced CB in concert—add it to your list. Trust me.
